Thermosetting

The thermosetting materials react to heat softening and subsequently moving back to harden thanks to a three-dimensional cross-linking process. Thanks to the combined effect of heat and pressure you can give them a form.

Thermoplastic

The thermoplastic polymers react to heat acquiring malleability such as to allow the modeling to finished products and only subsequently move back to acquire rigidity.

The production process



From powder to tablet

In the first stage of processing, the powder (ex. Bakelite) is transformed into tablets through the use of a machine.



From tablet to semi-finished part

In the second phase the tablets are inserted in a particular oven, heated and then inserted into a mold which will be released from the semi-finished product.


